The employer must have a health and safety profile risk assessment, in which it must carry out a qualitative and, where necessary, quantitative assessment of the risks to the health and safety of workers, in particular as regards the work equipment, technology, dangerous substances and mixtures used, the exposure of workers and the design of workplaces.

During the risk assessment, the employer must identify the expected hazards as well as the range of people at risk and estimate the degree of risk according to the nature of the risk.

The employer must define a health and safety risk assessment and preventive measures before starting the activity. Thereafter, in justified cases, but at least every 3 years, he must carry out the risk assessment again.

The following shall be considered as justified cases:

- changes in the applied activity, technology, work equipment, way of working.

- any changes related to the original activity, as a result of which the factors determining the health and safety of workers may have changed, including the working climate, noise, vibration exposure, air conditions (changes in the quality and quantity of air pollutants, gaseous, dust, fiber).

- an accident at work, increased exposure or the occurrence of an occupational disease in connection with the deficiency of the activity, technology, work equipment or way of working used, and

- if the risk assessment did not cover an aspect specified in a separate legal act.

The preparation of a risk assessment is strictly a professional activity, therefore it can only be performed by a person with a qualification specified by law.

Pursuant to the Chemical Safety Act, before starting to carry out an activity with hazardous substances or hazardous mixtures, the employer must prepare a risk assessment of the risks of the given activity to human health and the environment. Measures must be developed in order to manage and reduce the risk.

In the event that the risks arising from the work cannot be eliminated by technical and organizational measures or reduced to an acceptable level, the employer must provide workers with appropriate personal protective equipment.

The organization / person performing occupational safety and health and the organization / person performing occupational health occupation must be involved in determining and assessing the adequacy and necessity of protective equipment.

Protective equipment must be provided to the worker immediately from the beginning of the risk.

Determining the provision of personal protective equipment is a professional activity under the same conditions as risk assessment.

In order to protect the safety and health of employees at work, it is advisable for the employer to summarize the occupational safety regulations prescribed by law in the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations.

The employer must specify in writing the order of the job tests and the tasks related to the tests, including the direction and frequency of the periodic job aptitude tests.

A employer education must ensure that the worker acquires and has the theoretical and practical knowledge of work that does not endanger his health and is safe throughout the period of employment, and is familiar with the necessary rules, instructions and information.

The employee must receive occupational safety training:

- on taking up employment,

- in the event of a change of workplace or job and which does not endanger his health and is safe 

The employer must have educational aids and topics that contain the knowledge, rules, instructions and information needed to work safely without endangering his or her health.

The employer must order the operation of the hazardous facility, workplace, work equipment technology in writing, the condition of which is the preliminary inspection from the point of view of occupational safety.

The purpose of the study is to determine whether the material, personal, organizational and working environment conditions necessary for safe work are available.

The work equipment subject to the periodic inspection, the frequency and method of inspection must be specified in writing by the employer, taking into account the operating conditions, the standards concerning the work equipment and the relevant instructions of the manufacturer's instructions for use, operation and maintenance.
